Let’s kick this week off with a reminder that Sunday is Mother’s Day! You have a few days left to figure out how to make mom feel extra special. 💐

As a mom myself, nothing makes me happier than a relaxing day with the fam. No fancy dinners or plans for this girl - maybe a trip to the Azalea Festival (listed below) or a historic park, and then a trip to Sciortino’s in South Amboy for my favorite pizza - and of course a cannoli! 🍕

I hope all the moms out there have an amazing day! As of now, it is looking like great weekend weather is on its way - so hope your plans include the outdoors.

Merchantville - Art Walk from 6pm-9pm
Visit businesses and artists while enjoying some music. A perfect relaxing evening.

Rutherford - Paison con (runs 5/9-5/11, tickets start at $20)
Paisan Con celebrates Italian-American Heritage & Pop Culture. The weekend will include celebrities, autographs, meet and greets, vendors and so much more.

Smithville - Car Cruise Show from 5pm-8pm (repeat event)
This car show happens every 2nd and 4th Friday from May through September. Bring your own car to show - or just come and enjoy the cars that line Historic Smithville.

Wildwood - Kustom Hot Rod & Muscle Car Show (runs 5/8-5/10)
Walk the boardwalk and enjoy the sites of hundreds of cars as they line the streets!

Saturday - May 10, 2025

Asbury Park - Spring Bazaar from 12-5pm (event is held on 5/11 too)
Local vendors, music, arts and food at the convention hall and Asbury Hotel.

Augusta - Maverick’s Spring Festival from 11am-5pm
A festival to benefit Maverick’s Legacy that includes 100+ crafters, food trucks, music, car show and plenty of fun for the kids.

Berlin - Stella Farms Strawberry Festival from 9am-4pm
Celebrate the kickoff of the strawberry growing season with live music, food/alcohol, pony rides a petting zoo, tractor rides and other fun activities for the family.

Branchburg - Food Truck and Music Festival from 11am-7pm (tickets $5, under 5 free)
A family event featuring food, music and more to benefit the Branchburg Fire Department

Cape May - Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival from 10am-4pm (event is 5/10 & 5/11, tickets $16, under 12 free)
Love sea glass? This event features over 50 local and regional artists showcasing their sea glass art. Enjoy authors, lecturers and enjoy the historic village while there.

East Brunswick - BBQ & Soul Food Festival from 12pm-7pm (tickets $7, under 10 free)
Event supports the Rotary Club of New Brunswick and is a celebration of the best in American cuisine – smoky BBQ and Southern soul food!

Hamilton - Sayen Gardens Azalea Festival from 10am-4pm
Enjoy displays of over 250 thousand flowering bulbs, lakes, gazebos and walking paths. The festival will also have vendors, food, and musical entertainment. 

Island Beach State Park - May Day Spring Festival from 10am-3pm
Features craft vendors, live music, food trucks, a plant sale, and more.

Lincroft - Creative Arts Festival from 10am-4pm
A variety of fine artists and artisans, as well as live music by some of the best local musicians. Free activities, food vendors and artist demonstrations throughout the day.

Rahway - Hot Rods & Harleys from 11am-7pm
This all day event will feature over 600 cars and hundreds of bikes. This celebration will include music, food and more.

Sandyston - World Archery Day from 10am-2pm ($20)
The NJ School of Conservation is hosting a fun day where kids 8+ and adults can learn archery in a one hour lesson. Registration is required.

Sunday - May 11, 2025

Deal Park - Rock of Ages at 3pm (tickets start at $52 for adults)
Enjoy this musical at the Axelrod feature and be taken back to the 1980s.

Long Branch - Mother’s Day Market & Brunch from 12pm-5pm
Browse through unique vendors, grab a bouquet from the floral bar, enjoy some coffee, listen to music and take a family pic at the photo wall. Reservations at Whitechapel Project for a delicious brunch should be made in advance.

Newark - Comedian George Wallace shows at 3pm and 6pm (tickets from $40-$70)
If mom loves George Wallace - or could use a good laugh, this special Mother’s Day comedy show may be just what she needs.
